The European Nature Trust

The European Nature Trust has provided Rewilding Europe with funding for bison radio collars.

The European Nature Trust (TENT) supports and funds well-founded initiatives, which preserve and restore the last remaining wild habitats in Europe. TENT focuses on two very different regions of Europe: the Scottish Highlands and the Carpathian Mountains of Romania.

In the Highlands, TENT, in partnership with Alladale, focuses on environmental projects at Alladale Wilderness Reserve. These include:

  • The restoration of native forestry
  • The reintroduction of native wildlife
  • Conservation Research
  • Youth education
  • Peatland Restoration

In 2007, TENT recognised the importance of protecting the last remaining areas of wilderness in Europe – perhaps one of the most spectacular of these being in the Carpathian Mountains in Transylvania. Since then, TENT has been involved in a number of projects that aim to protect this area of outstanding natural beauty for today and for generations to come.
